Cyril Brom<\/h1>\nHe is the founder and head of the group. He is also an associate professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics<\/a> at\u00a0Charles University<\/a> in Prague<\/a>. His research interest is in computing education and in how people learn from multimedia learning materials. He previously worked in the fields of artificial intelligence, computer games development and computational neuropsychology. During that time, he headed a group called Artificial Minds for Intelligent Systems<\/a> at Charles University (2008 \u2013 2016). He contributed to well-known gaming and educational projects such as Data Newtown<\/a>, Kingdom Come: Deliverance<\/a>, Czechoslovakia 38 – 89: Assassination<\/a>\u00a0and Pogamut<\/a>.<\/p>\n He is a researcher for the group and an assistant professor of New Media Studies at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship at Charles University\u2019s Faculty of Arts<\/a>. His research addresses critical approaches to the intersection of culture and digital media; namely the internet, social media, video games, the networked public sphere and online communities. He was the lead game designer for the\u00a0Czechoslovakia 38 – 89: Assassination<\/a> and Attentat 1942<\/a> games.<\/p>\n His academic work focuses on experimental research on video games and their impact on players. In the lab, he is responsible for the project \u201cVideo Games, Players and Attitudes\u201d investigating players\u2019 attitude changes and for the project \u201cGame Analytics and Intrapersonal Learning Outcomes\u201d dealing with game analytics potential in research of video games effects on players. He specializes in development of, and research on, games with social or educational aspects. He is a director of Charles Games studio responsible for Attentat 1942<\/a> and Svoboda 1945: Liberation<\/a>.<\/p>\n She has a master’s degree in psychology and is especially interested in the effects of interactivity in multimedia learning and multimedia learning materials for normally developed children as well as for children with special needs (specifically with ASD).<\/p>\n She graduated as a teacher of mathematics and computer science at Charles University\u2019s Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and is pursuing a PhD in computing education. She is mainly interested in preconceptions She has a master\u2019s degree in Teacher training for primary schools at Charles University\u2019s Faculty of Education. Her current research focuses on tools and methods for effective teaching of digital technologies in primary education.
