This broad research project investigates what attributes of learning games can enhance learning outcomes through increasing intrinsic motivation for primary school children. This project is being conducted in collaboration with the\u00a0New Media Dramaturgy Center at Czech Television<\/a>.<\/p>\n This project\u2019s goal is to develop (and examine the instructional efficiency of) educational materials for teaching primary school children how computers and computer networks function. The educational materials include an animated series, online resources and curricular materials for teachers. The key partners of this project are the\u00a0Children’s channel at Czech Television<\/a>\u00a0and CZ.NIC<\/a>. The key output so far called Data Newtown<\/a> can be found, in the Czech language, on the Children’s channel website<\/a>.<\/p>\n The aim of this project is to develop\u00a0and examine interactive animations targeting at development of social skills of children with high-functioning autism and Asperger syndrome of school age. This project\u00a0is conducted in cooperation with Faculty of Education (Department of Psychology<\/a>) and it gives us the possibility to investigate multimedia in a new context.<\/p>\n This ongoing research project aims to bring missing empirical evidence into the debate on how playing video games affects short- and long-term players\u2019 attitude changes towards the content depicted in these games. Using both experimental and conventional tools for attitude measurement, the project also investigates players\u2019 attitudes and behavior in relation to their possible biases. The project uses games from the series Czechoslovakia 38-89, through which Attentat 1942 was released.<\/p>\n Attentat 1942 is a unique video game that tells the story of the Nazi occupation from the perspective of those who experienced it firsthand. The game is built around dialogues with survivors, interactive comics and authentic historical footage. A specific version of the game is intended for teaching contemporary history of the Czech lands in high schools.<\/p>\nInternet4Kids<\/h1>\n
